sensitive topics and opt-out
Mar. 8th, 2030 11:28 amGetting to Know Grace takes place in a pseudo-Edwardian era that contains both historically analogous content warnings as well as other themes that may be sensitive.
Potential themes include: Slavery/indentured servitude, power imbalance (master/maidservant), toxic love, institutional AND interpersonal sexism, ethnocentrism, terminal illness, suicidal ideation, mutilation/disfiguraton/dismemberment (special shout out to fingore), child abuse, spousal abuse, physical assault, reproductive abuse, murder, and war.
Andrew is removed from the realities of society in several ways, so some of the historical contexts are just that - context. I will be conscientious about tagging any explicit references or discussion, but the societal sexism and maid/master are baked in pretty integrally to the plot and character and may be referenced more heavily.
I am fine with all content but always appreciate subject line warnings for eating disorders and self-harm/SI if you remember them!
